Connemara is a magical place to work!

A short video I did at our Connemara Studios at Halloween or Samhain as It's  known in Gaelic. Halloween originated in Ireland and we used to carve turnips before the introduction of the pumpkin. Remember if you'd like to give the Gift of Jewellery Classes to someone we can send them a gift voucher. Message us at www.ruairioneill.com

Hammering a Silver Pendant on a block of wood

Image
Hammering Silver adds strength and depth to a piece of jewellery. On this occasion I was hammering the inside of a Peregrine Falcon that I'd cut out. For more info on the Perigrine Falcon see the listings in www.ruairioneill.com

On a shore ramble

Took a break from work at the studio and went for a walk to the beach. Don't forget to keep returning to the website to see the latest creations at www.ruairioneill.com

Connemara Drive

We were in Clifden today to pick up a bicycle that was in Mannion's Bike Hire for some adjustments. They really know their stuff there and performed some major surgery on my 25 year old mountain bike, it will go for another 25 years now! Great service and a great price!

The Making of a Cat House

Image
At the request of my daughter I took a break from creating jewellery and made a house for our now near permanent guest, Mr. Dubhabán the Cat. It's made from scraps of wood that I'd kept for ages in the back, knowing that one day they'd have a use! It comes with an insulated roof and floor, hey we always do our best here at the Studio in Connemara!

Finishing a silver pendant at Studio Ruairí O'Neill

Finishing is one of the longer aspects of creating a new piece of Silver Jewellery but it is also relaxing.
